PARKS & RECREATION BOARD                     February 9, 2009

 

The Parks & Recreation Board met on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at the City Administration Building, 400 N. High St., Cortland, Ohio.  In attendance were the following board members:  Dave Christner, James Gibson, Lisa Voytek, Mike Norton and John Picuri.  Also present were Mayor Curt Moll, and Service Director Don Wittman.

 

James Gibson made a motion to approve reorganization meeting minutes from January’s meeting, seconded by Lisa Voytek. All Ayes.  MOTION APPROVED

Lisa Voytek made a motion to approve proposed budget for 2009, seconded by James Gibson.  All Ayes.     MOTION APPROVED.

 

Playground

  • Discussed playground equipment from Game Time (Bridgepoint) for 2 – 5 yr olds
  • Discussed purchasing 6 benches from Game Time for total $3,528

 

Lisa Voytek made a motion to approve purchasing playground equipment and benches from GameTime (Bridgepoint), seconded by John Picuri. All Ayes. MOTION APPROVED

 

Easter Egg Hunt

 

James Gibson made a motion to approve Easter Egg Hunt cost of $600.00 to be paid to Lisa Voytek for reimbursement, seconded by Mike Norton.  All Ayes. MOTION APPROVED

 

Poison Ivy Control at Willow Park

  • Dave would like to see poison ivy sprayed heavily at the beginning of spring and have the service personnel mow along both sides of the paths to help keep the poison ivy to a minimum.

 

Cameras at Willow Park

  • No update

 

Baseball fields at Willow Park

  • John brought up a concern the baseball association has regarding the use of the fields by Valley Extreme.

 

John Picuri made motion to adjourn, seconded by Lisa Voytek.  All Ayes.  MOTION APPROVED
